Los
dos sellos de la Navidad de 1976 tienen este año otro objetivo
además del que supone conmemorar la Natividad. Es el
de hacerse eco de la celebración del IX Congreso Internacional
Belenista y el XIV Congreso Nacional Belenista, celebrados durante el
mes de octubre en San Sebastián.
Las
Asociaciones Belenísticas, como es sabido, se dedican a fomentar y a
dignificar la construcción de «belenes». Estos empiezan a
realizarse durante el Renacimiento, o poco antes de éste. Florece en
su más extendida eclosión en los siglos XVII y XVIII. Carlos III
fue uno de los más decididos partidarios de esta modalidad de arte
religioso; y han sido muchos los imagineros españoles que no
desdeñaron acercarse a ella, entre los cuales destacamos, en nuestro
país, a Martínez Montañés y Salzillo. Dos de tales artistas, los
Catalanes Martín José y Juan Castells, son los autores de las
figuras reproducidas en los sellos de esta serie.

The two Christmas stamps this year, 1976 have another goal besides the mark representing the Nativity. Is to echo the conclusion of the Ninth International Congress Belenista and Belenista XIV National Congress, held during October in San Sebastian.
Belenísticas Associations, as we know, are dedicated to promote and dignify the construction of "cribs". They first performed during the Renaissance, or shortly before that. Flowers in its most widespread emergence in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Carlos III was one of the strongest supporters of this form of religious art, and there have been many Spanish image disdained not approach her, among which we highlight in our country, Martinez Montanes and housed. Two such artists, Jose and Juan Martin Catalan Castells, are the authors of the reproduced on stamps of this series.

Belenísticas Verenigingen, zoals we weten, zijn toegewijd aan het bevorderen van de waardigheid en de bouw kribben. Ze voor het eerst uitgevoerd tijdens de Renaissance, of kort daarvoor.
